Play Containment Grid on Steam before anyone else and tell us what works, what breaks and what's no fun. Every report shapes the game.

Playtest ends 1 March 2027.

The playtest runs until 1 March 2027 (the end of Steam Next Fest). The top 10 are the 10 player IDs with the most play time by then, counted from the game's anonymous play data (so sharing has to be on). We'll email the winners a Steam key before launch. One pet per winner; we paint them in the game's style and may ask for a few more photos. Sending us your player ID links your play data to your email: we use that only to count play time and contact you, and your photos only to paint your pet.

GET THE GAME

The playtest runs on Steam Playtest. On the Containment Grid store page, press Request access; we let players in from Steamworks and the game appears in your Steam library, free.

The store page opens in November 2026. Until then, wishlist it to hear the moment it does.

COPY YOUR PLAYER ID

Settings, Gameplay tab Share anonymous play data switched on, then Apply The COPY MY PLAYER ID button
  1. In the game open Settings, then the Gameplay tab.
  2. Under Playtesting, turn on Share anonymous play data and press Apply.
  3. Press COPY MY PLAYER ID. It's now on your clipboard, ready to paste.

EMAIL YOUR ENTRY

Send it to [email protected] with:

  1. Your player ID (paste it)
  2. Your name
  3. Your pet's name, and dog or cat (breed if you know it)
  4. A few clear photos of your pet: side on, face, whole body

Email is only for the top-10 entry and for feedback: the game itself, the playtest and the demo are all on Steam.
